Trans inclusion has always been an important issue within Tesco and we’re proud to have been one of the first employers in Britain to have a published Supporting Trans Colleagues Policy which supports our People Managers and Line Managers to give them confidence throughout the process and to ensure that our colleagues have a positive experience within Tesco.
On 8th February 2015, we updates and published our Supporting Trans Colleagues Policy and publicised it to all colleagues through OurTesco as part of our LGBT History Month activity.
This week in, in partnership with Inclusive Employers, we were extremely proud to sponsor the launch of the “Recruiting and Retaining Trans Employees” guide at the House of Commons where Therese Procter, Chief Personnel Director of Tesco Bank and Diversity Director for Tesco Group, spoke to some of Britain’s biggest employers about Trans inclusion and the work we do at Tesco.
This guide acts as a fantastic support tool for both colleagues, people functions and line manager populations across both the private and public sector to ensure that Trans colleagues have a positive experience coming out in their organisation and that their people functions and line managers feel supported by the business throughout the journey too and have the guidance and support they need to help deliver a positive experience for their trans colleagues.
You can find the guide on the Inclusive Employers website here.
